Welcome to Indian River Internal Medicine
Dr. Prieto and his staff are dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based internal medicine care to their patients. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Prieto has the tools and knowledge to thoughtfully and effectively treat a wide variety of adult medical conditions, provide preventative care, and make appropriate referrals when needed.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTWe are in the process of transitioning to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Athena, effective October 5, 2026. After that date, we will no longer be monitoring or responding to messages sent through the Updox Patient Portal. As patients come in for appointments, we will register them for the new Athena Patient Portal. We will also be sending an email invitation in the near future so that patients may register for the new portal in advance. We ask for your patience during the next several weeks as we adjust to the new system and respond to patient requests. Appointment wait times may be slightly longer than usual during this transition. As always, we value the trust you place in us, and look forward to continuing to provide you with compassionate, high quality medical care.

General Internal Medicine
Dr. Prieto manages the spectrum of general adult medicine, include high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, lipid disorders, and more.

Patients who enroll in our chronic care management (CCM) service receive additional care and telephone contact from our CCM medical assistant

Routine Physicals/Annual Wellness Visits
Routine physicals and preventative visits are available, including the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit (AWV)

Inpatient Hospital Care
Dr. Prieto also serves as attending physician for his own patients at Sebastian River Medical Center

  • Telemedicine visits available upon request.
  • COVID-19 & Flu Nasal swab testing available.
